14th class report

14. Intellectual Property Protection

Based on the fact that the participants have acquired knowledge from the previous thematic units, it was necessary for them to familiarize themselves with intellectual property – IP. Since the business idea itself, as such, cannot be protected by intellectual property rights, the emphasis was on getting to know the participants through the importance of understanding the rights and protection of their intellectual property.

IP rights were presented and that:

  • Copyright and related rights,
  • Industrial property i
  • Soft IP rights.

They got acquainted with the constituent elements of each of the mentioned rights and recognized their business ideas on the given examples. It is important to emphasize that the participants understood that their idea can be subject to protection only through expression expressed in a certain form, which was shown in class.
Relevant examples from the business environment related to the protection of IP rights are presented, which are relevant for the development of business ideas of the participants.
An answer was given on which tax benefits (through the IP box) participants can count on, as well as tax benefits that companies that invest in startups can count on.
The class ended with a discussion related to the development and improvement of the participants’ business ideas and preparation for the next thematic unit.
