Alessandra Costa is an Assistant Professor at the University of Messina, Italy, and a Research Affiliate at I.E.M.E.S.T. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics, Management, and Statistics from the University of Messina. Her research focuses on innovation dynamics within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a particular emphasis on digital transformation, sustainability, and twin transition. Her works also explore mechanisms of open innovation, intellectual property strategies, technology transfer mechanisms, strategic technology acquisition, and the integration of AI-driven solutions in traditional sectors, especially low-tech ones. Her studies have been published in journals and books and presented at national and international conferences.
